Just another GR refugee. Other than that, I had a stroke in 2004, and read almost anything I can get my hands on, though I have a particular weakness for history, mystery, and historical fiction.
I cannot imagine the story of Winnie-the-Pooh without the illustrations of E.H. Shepard. (Though I hear Disney is subjecting our children to this monstrosity these days. Color me not amused.)
I almost went with Alice in Wonderland (can't imagine that not illustrated by Tenniel), or Pauline Baynes' lovely work for C.S. Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia.
