SusannaG - Confessions of a Crazy Cat Lady

Just another GR refugee.  Other than that, I had a stroke in 2004, and read almost anything I can get my hands on, though I have a particular weakness for history, mystery, and historical fiction.

The Judgment of Paris: The Revolutionary Decade That Gave the World Impressionism - Ross King

Today there's a Daily Deal for U.S. Kindle owners of this fine work of art history, about the French art world in the 1860s and 1870s, and the dawn of the Impressionists.  It is mostly about Ernest Meissionier, then very famous and the star of the official salons, and Edouard Manet, the reviled Impressionist.  I read this a couple of years ago, and recommend it to anyone interested in the period or subject.  It is normally $11.99; today it is $1.99.
