Just another GR refugee. Other than that, I had a stroke in 2004, and read almost anything I can get my hands on, though I have a particular weakness for history, mystery, and historical fiction.
Sophie's Choice, by William Styron. A big bestseller in 1979 and the winner of the (U.S.) National Book Award in 1980. I can also recommend the 1982 film, which won Meryl Streep her first Oscar for Best Actress.
It is a beautifully written novel.
