Just another GR refugee. Other than that, I had a stroke in 2004, and read almost anything I can get my hands on, though I have a particular weakness for history, mystery, and historical fiction.
This is the third volume in a steampunk series about Alexia Tarrabotti, aka Lady Maccon, who is soulless, or a preternatural. In this one her husband, Lord Maccon, a werewolf, has kicked her out because she's pregnant and he refuses to believe it's his, her dreadful family has betrayed her to Fleet Street gossip mongers, and London's vampires are trying to kill her via mechanical ladybug attacks.
Then she decamps to Italy, and the Templars are after her.
All in all, reasonably amusing, assuming one has read the earlier volumes. (I suspect it would make little sense if one had not; there are many references made to earlier events.)
